Be a Seeker and Level Up
The motto of the seeker is search, learn, apply.
Lather, rinse, repeat.
Seekers like us learn how to tap into our true potential by embarking on the quest for self-improvement. Via continual learning, we implement various practices to optimize our lives.
We are deep thinkers who enjoy understanding as much as we can about our chosen interests and the wider world. Seekers want to get to the big picture, not by sticking to theories or ideas, but by letting ourselves experience and play with concepts, exploring and gathering insight.
When we continually learn and apply new ideas, it creates a certain alchemy in our minds that manifests in our lives. Ideas that apply to the area of health may also take hold in our spiritual life or concepts we learn regarding relationships can also translate to our careers. It is all interconnected; leveling up in one area leads to improvement in another area.
This is as much an inner, spiritual journey as it is a practical one in the physical world. Theory connects to practice, and principles become practical. It’s not enough to only know, we must do. When we focus on the inner work, outer results flow naturally.
It’s all training for this game known as life.
Money is a game. Business is a game. Relationships are a game. Work is a game. Health is a game. Parenting is a game. Even spirituality is a game. Any realm of human experience we can think of, is a game. And most of it happens inside our heads. In fact, it’s almost purely a mental game.
Becoming conscious of which games we are participating in will lead us to be better players. First we must discover what games we play, or want to play, then we can figure out the rules. Seekers play to win, keeping in mind that the only one we are competing against, ever, is ourselves.
We can do anything in life. We just can’t do everything. At least, we can’t do everything at once. Being intentional with our lives requires planning. This game has a finite timeline, so narrowing down our areas of focus is key. Get clear on which games are important and how we want to play.
No matter what we have chosen to play, the ultimate outcome we are playing for is this: liberation. Freedom. As long as we remain unconscious, and unaware of the game, we will continue to struggle and be unhappy in life - to be enslaved.
We can liberate ourselves from whatever is holding us back - and (plot twist) it’s most likely us. We are all held back in life by multiple forces; some are external, like the people and environment surrounding us, and some are purely internal - our own thoughts.
Though we will always be seekers, the relentless search for more ideas on living better will slow to a trickle, as we become truly content and happy with our lives. Self-improvement and productivity are no longer the focus as we revel in our newfound freedom.
The only real freedom is what we create for ourselves by taking charge of our minds. To be free is to truly belong to ourselves. To be free means doing only the things we want to do.
Abiding in freedom is the ultimate leveling up.
