This is so well written and so true. In the last 10 years or so I've learned that loving yourself and being comfortable and happy in your own company is the only way to enjoy and appreciate everything else around you. Living life on your own terms is the most comforting and empowering feeling. It also allows whomever you bring into your life to enjoy the best version of you.
Such a great read. Thank you for sharing. I think phone use and doom scrolling is the worst for filling the void, i know it is for me anyway. Thanks for the reminder to meditate more.
Not me. I was uncertain about most things, yet I knew in my teens that solitude was the right choice. When I'm around people, I'm walking on eggshells.
My online activities, communicating without having to be physically present, has been a blessing. It suits my nature.
Thank you, Amy, for that interesting post which made me think about the void I embraced a few years ago, sitting with myself as I started meditating. The thing is, that void is more a silent place than a void for it’s not empty, just empty of thoughts. For, in fact, this void is filled with love and peace, a very beautiful place to look at the world from. Lots of love.

Very well said. Thank you!

I appreciate this, Will. Phone use is something I’ve written about as well, it’s so pervasive and insidious.
I'm reading the Sirens' Call by Chris Hayes as we speak. Very good book.
I will check it out, thanks!

I think that resonates with a lot of people. Face-to-face social interactions can be very challenging.

Learning how to sit with yourself is a different kind of emptiness. A good and necessary kind. Thanks Geraldine!
Thank you so much for these words. I needed them this morning.
I’m glad & thank you so much for reading.
